Founded: 1965 (when Kazuichi was 20 years old)
1960: Kazuichi enters Aichi Prefectural Anjo Agricultural and Forestry High School
as a part-time student.
1965: Begins growing Mikawa Black Pine bonsai with Kazuichi's father, Yotaro
Yamashita. Graduates from Anjo Norin High School and begins training at Sojuen,
Nishio City.
1970: Begins cultivation of ʻEmperor Plumʼ trees (commersonia hermanniifolia)
with his wife, Yoshimi.
1972: Begins production of pines, bamboo, and plum trees. Kazuichiʼs son Naoki is
born.
1986: Begins cultivation of multiple varieties of blueberry seedlings.
1990: Kazuichiʼs son Naoki graduates from Anjo Higashi High School and is
admitted to the Department of Horticultural Sciences at Kobe University's College
of Agriculture.
1994: Naoki graduates from the Agricultural Economics Seminar at Kobe University.
He trains for two years at Kuroyanagi Horticulture, in Anjo.
1996: Naoki begins growing potted plants at Yamashita Horticultural.
1998: Begins growing Mussaenda parviflora.
2002: Begins growing Rivina humillis(bloodberry) and cultivating Kokedama moss
balls.
2005: Begins growing camellias.
2010: Begins cultivation of Japanese plants such as Fortunella hindsii Swingle
(kumquat), Leptospermum scoparium (mānuka) and Cotoneaster morrisonensis.
Yamashita Horticultural now practices bonsai techniques across a variety of plants,
florals, and fruits, each chosen to highlight the unique beauty of Japanʼs seasons.
In addition, we offer more than 50 varieties of blueberry seedlings, carefully selected
to meet the specific requirements of our customers' regions.
